4-12-18 - Graphic Novels

The graphic novel I choose was Nancy by John Stanley. As society becomes more reliant on technology, I think it's important to pick up a book every once in a while and read. This graphic novel is a good choice because of the fact that there are short stories within the book, each a couple of pages long that can be read in a few minutes. This short stories concept provides everyone a chance to be able to read because of how quickly one can read it. Additionally, since it's all pictures, it's also interesting. It provides those who are visual readers a chance to see what is going on as it is illustrated by the author. 

The example of technology that this book shows is picture editing and being able to show the effects of what is going on, as well as emphasizing certain moves that are relevant to what is being said. Also, the utilization of different texts is a good use of technology because the author is able to emphasize certain things and provide different fonts so the reader can distinguish between actions and dialogue.
